Thibaut Courtois got off to a winning start with Belgium in their opening World Cup match against Panama, but that didn’t stop Chelsea team-mate Cesc Fabregas from brilliantly trolling him on social media.
The Blues shotstopper kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 victory over the Central American minnows, and even though he was barely tested he did have to make one excellent save to deny Michael Murillo in the second half.
Courtois posted a photo of the save on his Instagram page, however Fabregas quickly pounced on it by commenting underneath in Spanish with the words: “It’s about time you closed your legs”.
The Spain international was obviously referencing the Barcelona game where Courtois was criticised by some for letting Lionel Messi score between the keeper’s legs when he really should have saved it.
Courtois responded with the word ‘cabron’ which translates as ‘ba***rd’ in English, followed by a crying emoji.
